Sardine Lake Resort is taking the risks presented by COVID-19 seriously and is following USDA and CDC public health guidance as well as the State of California's "shelter in place" Executive Order of March 19, 2020 as we continue to determine our ability to re-open. Working with new guidelines by the State and County, our projected date of re-opening is Saturday, June 13, 2020, providing no further restrictions are enforced. Because this delayed opening will result in some cancelled cabin reservations, those affected guests will be notified and a full refund of reservation deposits will be made accordingly.
Additionally, the re-opening of our Restaurant and Lakeside Bar is undetermined at this time for 2020. While we realize how disappointing the loss of vacation time at Sardine Lake will be, our primary concern is the health and well-being of our employees and guests.
In an area renowned for fishing, hiking, birding, wildflowers and scenic beauty, you are surrounded by unexpected opportunities to view soaring eagles and osprey, deer, otters and a variety of other wildlife.
The original lodge, built in the 1940's by Audrey and George Browning, which later expanded, adding an additional dining room in the original chinked log construction, is complete with family heirloom furnishing, period lighting and memorabilia of the lodge's fishing and local history.
The Main Lodge is open daily at 8am for beverages, including beer and wine, snacks, bait & tackle, boat rentals and cabin reservations. Alongside the main lodge, which also hosts a fine dining restaurant, are our nine handcrafted housekeeping cabins nestled among the pine trees.
We invite you to join us sharing all the joys of a summer vacation at "the lake". Enjoy the peaceful rhythm of morning fishing in the mist, afternoon naps on your cabin porch, cocktails on the lake gazebo or find yourself settling into our lakeside restaurant for a unique culinary delight.
